Fighting Irish Fighting Cancer!

Beards For Bros, O’Dea’s annual campaign to raise money for Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Research at Seattle Children’s Hospital is underway! Fundraising began at the beginning of the month with a Kickoff Assembly. Guest speakers included alumn Johnny Ochsner ’15 who spoke about his experience as a student leaders launching the inaugural Beards For Bros campaign, and Shaloma, a 14 year-old cancer survivor who shared her story about being treated at Children’s Hospital. Students left inspired to maximize their fundraising efforts, and those who raise $100 are permitted to grow facial hair for the month of March!

Tours begin at 6pm with the last tour departing at 8:15pm. O’Dea will validate parking at the Cabrini Center Garage located across the street from the O’Dea parking lot on Marion Street. No RSVP required.

O’Dea Student Leaders Attend Annual ERCBNA Workshop

Juan Pablo Perez ’20, Alexander Duong ’20, and Jason Fridge ’21 traveled to Kearny, New Jersey September 19-22 to represent O’Dea High School at the annual Action Student Leadership Workshop hosted by the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers of North America. Juan Pablo, Alex, and Jason joined students from Christian Brother schools around the world to collaborate and develop leadership skills. The focus of the workshop was advocacy. Students were empowered to honor the mission of Edmund Rice through continued active and meaningful service, and by providing a voice to the voiceless.
