O'Dea High School

Volunteering

There are many volunteer opportunities available for parents and guardians of O’Dea students. While we do not require specific time commitment, we encourage parent support and participation whenever possible.

Please take a look at the volunteer opportunities available below and contact the lead if you are interested in helping.  A SignUp Genius will be available prior to events which will provide additional information regarding exact roles, times, and location. We thank you, in advance, for your support.

Mothers’ Club

If interested in helping with any of the below volunteer opportunities, please contact the Mothers’ Club at mothers-club@odea.org

Bite of O’Dea: We need a strong committee to help organize things such as entertainment, food and drink, games, set up/tear down and marketing to name a few.  This is a social event and a great place to meet other moms!

Open Houses – November 8, 2017 and January 4, 2018: Freshman and Sophomore families supply cookies or brownies for this event.  We need energetic O’Dea mom’s to help us set up, tear down, socialize and answer questions to prospective O’Dea families.

Graduation Reception: The Mothers’ Club is proud to host a reception immediately following the Graduation ceremony.  We need moms to help with set up, tear down, plating cookies, preparing the water stations, replenishing the cookies, and cutting and serving the cake.

Deck the Halls: Every year the Mothers’ Club spends a couple hours on the first Saturday morning in December decorating the school with Christmas Cheer.  We provide the decorations and you come with your Christmas Spirit!

Christmas Family Project: O’Dea adopts a handful of families every year to help make their Christmas bright.  We need lots of parents to help the boys wrap the gifts as well as drive the gifts to the families’ homes.  It is fun to reward the boys by bringing treats that they get to enjoy after they have completed the wrapping.  Donations for this project are also happily accepted (wrapping paper, gift boxes, scissors, tape, tags).

Christmas Wreath Sales: We need moms to help out with marketing and data entry. Sales begin in late September.

Basketball Concessions: The Mothers’ Club organizes the concessions for the O’Dea Basketball home games.  We are looking for folks to help with set up, sales and tear down.

SCRIP: We are looking to build a sustainable SCRIP program and need help from motivated moms, preferable those with experience!

Fathers’ Club

If interested in helping with any of the below volunteer opportunities, please contact the Fathers’ Club at fathers-club@odea.org.

Football Home Games – Admissions: Work with the assistant athletic director and Spanish teacher Gabriella Botello in welcoming fans into the stadium and running admissions.  A great way to meet alumni.

Football Home Games – Merchandise Sales: Help to set up, sell, and tear down the O’Dea logo wear.  A great way to meet Dads.

Football Home Games – Chain Gang: Work directly with the officiating crew in making downs and distance.  Can’t get a better seat to O’Dea football than this!

O’Dea/HNA New Family Picnic: Got a Freshman? No better way to see what girl’s he is talking to than helping sell logo gear on a nice summer day in the park.

Italian Dinner – January 27, 2018: This event is going on its 54th year at O’Dea.  It is a special opportunity to be a part of what makes O’Dea great.
