O'Dea High School

O’Dea and Holy Names student leaders joined 100 other students from Seattle area high schools for the fifth annual Impact! Safe Schools Student Leadership Conference. This conference is hosted by a partnership of Seattle University, Seattle Public Schools, Seattle Archdiocese, Seattle Police Department, and Seattle Neighborhood Group. The conference has students engage in a series of activities and discussions to deepen understandings of bias and the importance of having difficult conversations in the face of conflict. The O’Dea students collaborated with other students, adult facilitators, and police officers regarding barriers and strategies to making our schools safer and more equitable. Thanks to David Sessoms, Max Samson, JT Rimorin, Thomas Endashaw, Alex Duong, and Andrew Varela for their thoughtful engagement!
