Peter Bacho ‘68 Peter is an educator, renowned novelist, and short story writer. He has been honored with many awards including the American Book Award, Washington State Governor’s Writers Award, and the Murray Morgan Prize. His most recent book, Uncle Rico’s Encore, is a collection of autobiographical essays that pays tribute to Filipino Seattle. The essays speak to Peter’s life growing up in Seattle’s multi-ethnic neighborhoods, including his years at O’Dea. Very Reverend Michael G. Ryan Father Ryan, pastor at St. James Cathedral for more than 35 years, creates a welcoming world with his sensitivity and compassion, love of family, and voice for those in need. Fr. Ryan has formed a strong partnership with O’Dea as an advocate, religious leader, and friend, helping O’Dea remain grounded in faith and confident in our future. Father Tim Sauer Father Tim is a longtime pastor, community advocate, and leader, whose compassionate work has had a profound impact on generations of people throughout the Archdiocese of Seattle. As Campus Minister, he founded O’Dea High School’s Encounter for Christ Retreat in 1984, which remains one of O’Dea’s longest-standing faith-based traditions. This work, and his continued involvement, has provided invaluable guidance to the young men of O’Dea. |
