O'Dea High School

Academic Resource Center

The mission of O’Dea’s Academic Resource Center (ARC) is to meet the research and reading needs of the students and teachers of O’Dea High School. Both teachers and students use the resources provided by the ARC.

The ARC is a popular place to visit on the O’Dea campus. Students gather here before and after school, during Irish Block, and at lunch. Teachers also sign up to bring their classes up to the library to spread out and work.

The ARC is a great place to read, work together at the large tables, or conduct research using Microsoft Surface Tablets or desktop computers. The Director of Educational Technology and the Director of Technology also work out of the ARC.

Resources

The ARC’s collection of over 100,000 e-books, as well as databases such as Ebsco Host, Gale’s Virtual Reference Center, and ProQuest support O’Dea’s college preparatory curriculum and can be accessed anywhere on campus without any usernames and passwords. Most e-books and databases can be accessed by many students simultaneously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through the Academic Resource Center page on O’Dea’s SharePoint Site.

Hours

The ARC is open on school days from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. The ARC is also open until 2:00 p.m. on days with early dismissal.
