O’Dea appreciates all of the hard work you have contributed over the past four years and we hope this page will help you enjoy this exciting time that is approaching while staying organized and well-informed. April 21:  Cap, gown, tassel and items ordered from Josten’s delivered during Irish Block.
April 22:  Payment for Senior Prom ($75) due
May 1:    Mother/Son Blessing & Breakfast, Ballard Bay Club – 9:30AM

  • Seniors must be in mass attire
  • No classes for seniors on this day
  • All seniors are required to be in attendance
  • Invitations will be sent out

May 1:    Senior Prom, Ballard Bay Club – 8PM-Midnight

  • Cost is $75 per couple (includes dinner)
  • No early departure

May 15:  Graduation Tickets Available

  • Each senior receives 10 tickets
  • No extra tickets available
  • Special Needs tickets will be a different ticket but are part of your 10 tickets (1 person allowed to enter with them for assistance)

May 20:  Alumni-Senior Brotherhood Event, Washington Athletic Club
May 22:  House Spirit Day/Last Day of School for Seniors
May 26:  Graduation Practice – 8:20-11:30 AM

  • Mandatory Attendance
  • School dress code required

May 27: Baccalaureate, Graduation Ceremony, Graduation Reception and Senior Escape All-Night Graduation Party

Baccalaureate Mass & Graduation Information

Baccalaureate Mass & Graduation – Wednesday May 27, 7PM

St. James Cathedral

  • Mass attire is required.
  • Seniors must be clean shaven.
  • Dress pants & dress shoes are required (no tennis shoes allowed).
  • Caps & gowns may not be decorated. Leis may not be worn until after the ceremony
  • Seniors should be in line in the parking lot by 6:15PM.
  • A photographer will be available at 5PM in front of the school for family photos.
  • Photos will be taken of the graduate receiving his diploma. These are available for purchase. The Cathedral does not allow people to come forward and take photos.
  • Honor cords will be given out in the procession line.
  • Admission to the Cathedral is by ticket only. Seats may not be saved. If you have special tickets from the auction, you will be contacted prior to the ceremony and notified where your seats are located.
  • Doors to the Cathedral will be locked and will open at 6PM. Please be aware that if you are in the Cathedral earlier you will be asked to leave while we set up.
  • Parking is available in the Cabrini Garage. Parking is NOT validated.
  • Seniors do not receive their official diploma until after they return from the all-night party.
  • There is as reception for graduates & families in the gym following graduation.
  • Graduates will leave for the All Night Party from the reception.

33rd Senior Escape All Night Graduation Party – Following Graduation Reception

  • Graduates must bring casual clothes to change in to for the party. No sandals or flip flops. They will change at 10PM.
  • There is no cost for this party.
  • We return to O’Dea at 5:30AM.
  • All school rules and policies are in effect for the evening.
  • No smoking, tobacco or juuling is allowed at the party.
  • We are not responsible for cars left in the parking lot. If a car is left they need to make sure NOTHING is visible in the car.
  • If for any reason your son will not be in attendance, please send an email to Linda Thornton at lindat@odea.org by May 15th.
  • The location is a surprise. The emergency number for the night is 206-923-7533 and this number will be checked hourly.
  • Most years we have 100% attendance. This is the 33rd year of this party and it is a wonderful way for the graduates to end their high school time and celebrate together!
