Social Studies Department
Mr. Tim Greenan
Mr. Tim Greenan began his teaching career at O’Dea in 1995. He teaches Contemporary Problems to seniors and is Chair of the Social Studies Department as well as an assistant varsity football coach. A graduate of O’Dea, Mr. Greenan has a BA in History from Gonzaga University. In his free time, Mr. Greenan likes to spend time with his family.
Mr. Mike Crotty
Mr. Mike Crotty joined the O’Dea faculty in 1993. He counsels for sophomore students and teaches Accounting to upperclassmen. Mr. Crotty is also an assistant varsity football coach. A graduate of Glacier High School in Burien, Mr. Crotty has a BA in Business Management from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Counseling from City University. When he isn’t teaching or coaching, Mr. Crotty enjoys playing golf.
Mr. Michael Doyle
Mr. Mike Doyle joined the O'Dea faculty in 2007, and teaches United States History and Modern American History/The Civil War. He is also the head varsity baseball coach, after being an assistant coach for 6 years. He has also helped coach cross country. Mr. Doyle is a proud graduate of both O'Dea and Gonzaga University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History. In his free time, Mr. Doyle enjoys relaxing with his family, including his wife, son and expectant daughter.
Mr. Monte Kohler
O’Dea’s Athletic Director and head football coach, Mr. Monte Kohler has been leading the Fighting Irish since 1985. Mr. Kohler teaches U.S. History Honors to juniors and is the co-head track coach. Mr. Kohler graduated from Loyola High School in Missoula, Montana and has a BA in History and Social Science from Carroll College, Helena, Montana. In his free time, Mr. Kohler enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Jana, son, John Edward, daughter, Cody Marie, and step-daughter and step-son, Ashley and Race.
Br. Tom LeJeune
Br. LeJeune originally joined the O’Dea faculty in 1993. He is a Freshman Counselor, teaches Social Studies and is an assistant baseball and cross country coach. He earned a BA in Religious Studies from Iona College and an MA in Religious Education from Seattle University. Br. LeJeune is a native of New Orleans, LA.
Mr. Matt Ziegenfuss
Mr. Matt Ziegenfuss has been on the O’Dea faculty since 2003. He teaches World History and World History Honors to freshman, is the head JV basketball coach, assistant freshman football coach. Mr. Ziegenfuss earned his BA in Social Sciences Secondary Education from Moravian College and has earned his Master's in Educational Administration and Principal's Certification from Seattle University. He grew up in Nazareth, PA, where his mother and sister are both teachers. In his free time he likes to stay physically active by participating in various sports. He enjoys relaxing by the pool (on nice days!), watching television, staying in touch with family and friends as often as possible, listening to music and reading.
