Mathematics Department
Mr. Barrett Corrigan
The Math Department Chair, Mr. Barrett Corrigan has been teaching at O’Dea since 1981. Mr. Corrigan teaches Algebra/Trig and Pre-Calculus Honors. He also coaches JV soccer. A graduate of Kennedy High School, Mr. Corrigan earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Seattle University and spent one year in Poland as a Fulbright Exchange student teacher. Mr. Corrigan lists his hobbies as chess, cribbage and “my girls”. He and his wife, Maggie, have four daughters.
Mr. John Anderson
Mr. John Anderson began teaching at O’Dea in 1999. He teaches Geometry Honors and Religion to juniors. A graduate of Queen Anne High School, Mr. Anderson has a BS in Mathematics from Seattle University and a Masters in Theological Studies from the University of Dallas. Mr. Anderson lives in Bremerton where he enjoys various outdoor activities as well as just hanging out with his wife and children.
Mr. Vince Butorac
Mr. Vince Butorac has been teaching and coaching track and field at O’Dea High School since 2008. He began his teaching career in Kent and later taught at an international school in Mexico City. Mr. Butorac earned both his BA and MA at Central Washington University (2000, 2005). In his free time, Mr. Butorac enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney, who is a teacher at Lafayette Elementary in West Seattle, and his son Leo.
Ms. Donna Popich
Ms. Donna Popich has been a member of our math department for six years. She teaches Freshmen Algebra I and Honors Advance Algebra. Ms. Popich is also the Educational Support Plan Coordinator and moderator of our Link Leader mentoring program. Ms. Popich has a BA in Education and Psychology from the University of Oregon and a M.Ed. in Administration from Grand Canyon University. She taught secondary special education for twenty years in the Issaquah School District and was the math specialist for eight years at Holy Rosary, Seattle. Ms. Popich has a daughter who will be a senior in high school this fall; and, her son, a 2009 O'Dea graduate, will be a junior in college. In her spare time Ms. Popich enjoys traveling, running, attending her kids' sporting events, and walking the dogs.
Dr. Lee Reinleitner
Dr. Reinleitner joined the O’Dea faculty in 1993, and is teaching Physics and Physics honors, as well as Calculus to seniors. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon, has a BS from Harvey Mudd College in California, and a MS and Ph.D in Physics from the University of Iowa. Dr. Reinleitner lists computers, swimming, hiking and reading science fiction among his hobbies. Dr Reinleitner is presently writing a physics textbook.
Joining the math department in 2004, Mr. Paul Rittman came to O'Dea after teaching elementary school for 28 years. He is from Buffalo, New York, and holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Notre Dame, a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve, a Teaching Certificate from Marylhurst College, and a M.Ed. in Education Psychology from the University of Washington. His sons, Mark (a pilot for Horizon Airlines) and Michael (teaching P.E. at St. George School), both graduated from O’Dea, in 2001 and 2004 respectively. His daughter, Anastasia, is in her 1st year as a primary teaching assistant at St. George. His loving wife of 32 years, Judy, is a Physical Therapist for Swedish Visiting Nurse Services.
Mr. James Walker
Our Assistant Principal of Student Services, Mr. James Walker, has been at O’Dea since 1991. Mr. Walker’s duties include teaching freshman Math activities and counseling. Mr. Walker earned his BA in Political Sciences/History at the University of Washington, and MA in Collegiate Administration from the University of Hawaii. He has an Ed.S. Educational Administration, Principal’s and Program Administrator’s Certification from Seattle University. He enjoys spending time with his six children and when possible, a quiet dinner with his wife Mimi.
